The course
Nine holes along the Orwell
Five par 3s and four par 4s wind along the River Orwell saltings through mature woodland, with river views from almost every tee and green. At 1,900 yards and par 31, it is officially rated under the World Handicap System.
It rewards accuracy over power. Beginners find it friendly, and experienced golfers find the tight, tree lined holes and sloping greens a real test of the short game.

First tee 8:30am, last tee 5pm, play until dark. Every player needs their own clubs and bag; a few hire sets are available, so call 01473 727393 ahead.

The clubhouse overlooks the course, steps from the final green. The bar is open throughout course hours and hot food is served 12 to 2pm most days.
Free parking sits right beside it.

Do I need to book a tee time?
No. Alnesbourne Priory Golf Course is pay and play, so there are no tee times to book. Turn up any day from 8:30am and pay in the clubhouse.
Do I need a handicap or membership?
No. Alnesbourne Priory has no membership and you do not need a handicap. Golfers of every ability are welcome, from complete beginners to club players.
How much does a round cost?
A round at Alnesbourne Priory costs £18 for adults on weekdays and £24 at weekends and bank holidays. Juniors under 16 pay £13 and £19. Fees are for 18 holes; there is no 9 hole rate.

Is there a dress code?
Smart casual is fine at Alnesbourne Priory and tailored shorts are welcome. No vest tops, and closed shoes only, so no flip flops or sandals.
Can children play?
Yes. Juniors under 16 have their own green fees at Alnesbourne Priory, and players under 18 must play with an adult.

Just off the A14 at Nacton
Leave the A14 at the Nacton exit and follow the signs for Priory Park. About four miles from Ipswich town centre and easy to reach from Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Kesgrave and Martlesham.
